Worthwhile

Tonight, I will retire
Close my eyes
And look inside

And if I
Taste fire
Will you tell me that I am in hell?
And if I
Taste fire
Will you leave me where I fell?

Tonight, I will smile
Say nothing
Make it worthwhile

And if I
Taste fire
will you hold my hand and burn?
And if I
Taste fire
Will you forget the life we yearn?

Nursing coffee and cigarettes
All night long
With death guiding this carriage
Six feet underground
To have the worms eat my skin
The devil has been waiting
Since the day
I tasted water

Tonight, I will sleep
Hold your hands
And forget to weep.
